بیایید با یک ساختار بسیار رایج شروع کنیم: Neither... nor (نه... نه).

اشتباه رایج این است که بگوییم: "Sara speaks neither English or French."

اما درست آن این است: "Sara speaks neither English nor French."

حالا برسیم به کلمه Both (هر دو).

نگویید: "Both of them didn't go to school today."

درست آن: "Neither of them went to school today."

برسیم به کلمات Also و Too (همچنین / هم).

اشتباه رایج: "Joe hasn't come also (or too)."

درست آن: "Joe hasn't come either."

حالا یک نکته ظریف درباره حرف ربط And در جملات منفی.

نگویید: "I don't like red and orange. I want the blue one."

درست آن: "I don't like red or orange. I want the blue one."

برسیم به کلمه Till (تا).

اشتباه رایج: "I'd reached the school till the rain started."

درست آن: "I'd reached the school before the rain started" یا "I'd reached the school when the rain started."
